John II Casimir, Szóstak 1662 AT, Lviv – rare
Type VII (Ciura) bust.
The Ślepowron coat of arms (of Jan Kazimierz Krasiński—Grand Crown Treasurer) is divided by a circumferential inscription on the obverse.
On the reverse, flanking the shield bearing the Snopek coat of arms (the coat of arms of the Vasa family), are the letters A–T (the initials of Andrzej Tymf, leaseholder of the Lviv Mint)—rare.
A variant with plain coats-of-arms.
An oval-shaped cartouche bearing the Vasa coat of arms. A trefoil above the cartouche.
A variant with inscriptions bearing the king’s title “IO CASIM … POL ET SVE” in the rim on the obverse and “… ARGEN SEX REG POL …” in the rim on the reverse.

A double-struck but fully legible and beautifully preserved piece. Beautiful detail. Brilliance and plenty of mint luster. A rarer year. A rarer variant. A beautiful coin.
