John II Casimir, Szóstak 1662 AT, Kraków – beautiful
Type IV bust (Ciura).
The Ślepowron coat of arms (of Jan Kazimierz Krasiński—Grand Treasurer of the Crown) is divided by a circumferential inscription on the reverse.
On the reverse, on either side of the shield bearing the Snopek coat of arms (the coat of arms of the Vasa family) , arethe letters A–T (the initials of Andrzej Tymf—the leaseholder of the Kraków Mint).
The border appears only on the obverse.
Variant with plain coats of arms.
Inscription variant with the royal title “IO CASIM …” in the rim on the obverse and “GROS AR SEX – REG POL …” in the rim on the reverse.
Condition: 1-/2+
Minor imperfections in the metal and strike, but a beautifully struck and well-preserved piece. Beautiful detail. Intense luster and mint mirror finish. A beautiful coin for discerning collectors.
