John II Casimir, Szóstak 1662 AcpT, Lviv – rare
Type VII bust (Ciura).
The Ślepowron coat of arms (of Jan Kazimierz Krasiński – Grand Treasurer of the Crown) is divided by a circumscribing inscription on the obverse.
On the reverse, on either side of the shield bearing the Snopek coat of arms (the coat of arms of the Vasa family), are the letters A C – P T (the initials of Andrzej Tymf—lessee of the Lviv Mint—and Chrystian Pfahler—mint master of the Lviv Mint).
A variant with simple coat-of-arms shields.
An oval-shaped cartouche bearing the Vasa coat of arms. Above the cartouche is a trefoil.
A variant with inscriptions bearing the king’s title IO CASIM … POL ET SVE in the rim on the obverse and … ARGEN SEX REG POL … in the rim on the reverse.

A slightly worn portrait, but fully legible and in decent condition. A rarer year of issue. A rarer variant. An attractive coin.
