Dan Jacobson, born in Paris in 1942, graduated from the École Estienne, where his teachers were Albert Flocon (1909–1994) and Jean-Cluseau-Lanauve (1914–1997). In 1962, he won the Grand Prix de l’Art et l’Industrie at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In addition to painting, Dan Jacobson works as an art director at major Parisian advertising agencies. He has been a member of the Maison des Artistes in Paris since 1976. In 1978, the Drouant Gallery awarded him the Young Painter’s Prize, sponsored by TOFOLI. His themed exhibitions are multiplying in galleries in France and abroad: “The Sea and Fishermen, A Passion for Sailing, Markets, Bistros, Paris Yesterday and Today, Evasion, Fleur d’eau ” (Les Heures Claires / Galerie Médicis / La Caverne des Arts / Les Orfèvres / Drouant / Saint Roch / Colette Dubois / Arts Expo / Galerie Opéra / L’Orée du Rêve...) Dan Jacobson organized an unprecedented exhibition titled “Imagine the Olympic Games in Paris” at the Galerie d’Art du Vexin in March 2024, where he holds the status of “Permanent Artist” in residence. The result of five years of preparation, this exhibition captivates audiences with a spectacular fusion of sports, art, and culture, establishing itself as a flagship event on the French and international art scene.
