Ludwik Misky, born Ludwik de Delney Misky (1884–1938), Norbertine Convent in Kraków
Oil on cardboard, 52.5 x 38.5 / 46.5 x 32.5
Signed lower left: "L MISKY"
Condition: Good (painting in very good condition; visible cracks on the frame)
The painting depicts a panorama viewed from Kraków’s Dębniki neighborhood toward the convent on the other side of the Vistula River. The artist captured the former boat crossing, which was still in use before the bridge was built. Beyond its artistic merits, the work also holds documentary significance—it evokes the realities of life and the appearance of Kraków from years past.
