Biography
Studied from 1857 to 1866 at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow under W. Łuszczkiewicz and F. Szynalewski. From 1868 he studied at the Vienna Academy. From 1871 to 1900 he lived in Munich, and after returning to Poland in Warsaw and Szczawnica. He painted realistic genre scenes, portraits, landscapes, paintings with historical content, motifs from the January Uprising - in which he took part. Awarded medals at exhibitions, including those in Vienna, Munich and Berlin. Very popular in Germany, Austria, the United States and England.
