On the back on the canvas an indistinct inscription, most likely the artist's name.

The composition is a copy of the painting "Chalice of Wine" from around 1662, now in the Staatliche Museen in Berlin. It has only slightly different dimensions from the original (65 x 77 cm) and a different color scheme, which may flow from the different age of the work and the past conservation of the original composition.
