Miklós Németh is a representative of the Fauvist trend. He was born in Budapest in 1934. He came from a bourgeois family. His father worked as a photographic chemist at the State Cartographic Institute in Budapest. His parents lived in a nobleman's villa in the suburb of Pasaret, where Miklós Németh grew up. As an artist, he suffered a lifelong visual impairment as a result of an injury sustained at birth. It is possible that Miklós Németh's visual impairment influenced his painting style. From 1950/54 Miklós attended the art school of Ödön Marffy. Ödön Marffy was a member of the Julian Academy in Paris. Typical of this group of painters from the Julian Academies are strong, modern colors. Marffy's influence on the Parisian scene coincided with the rise of French Fauvism. Since then, and after his return to Hungary in 1907, Marffy has manifested a strong affinity with Fauvism and the art of Cézanne. Among other things, he became a member of the avant-garde group "Nyolcak" (eight), which was founded in 1910. In 1950, he founded an art school in Budapest.
