HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF THE CONVENTIONAL ASSOCIATIONS OF BOTH GENDERS AND THE KNIGHT ORDERS OF THE STATES Volume I-III
Facsimiles of the original made from a complete particular - containing 262 instead of 261 illustrations pieces with carefully and impressively colored engravings in Lithography by J. V. Fleck et Co. enhanced with an additional rare lithograph: Polish Paulines (the illustration is included in volume one).
The author of the Polish edition was Piotr Szymanski. ONLY 100 PIECES WERE PUBLISHED !!!!!! Andrzej Banach wrote about the aforementioned book: "It may be the best illustrated book of Polish Biedermeier".
The Polish edition of 1848-49 is a translation and elaboration of the German-language edition of 1821 published in Prague. In the Prague edition of the history there are several illustrations which clearly differ from those in the Polish edition and which relate to the lands inhabited by Poles. These illustrations are additionally included at the end of the book. These include a visualization of a Cavalier of the Order of the White Eagle or an extremely decorative illustration of a Cavalier of the Order of St. Stanislaus.
The whole book is a tasty bibliophilic morsel, whose antiquarian value will only increase due to its scarce circulation - we recommend it as an excellent investment !!!!
