They pose the thesis that financial education is the key to achieving freedom. Therefore, the first part of the book is devoted to the current monetary system and how it works in reality. The role of commercial banks, which have the power to create money "out of nothing" and lend it at interest to the entire population, is discussed. The consequences of a debt-based system that affect us all are presented. The ubiquitous and regular financial crises, currency collapses and ever-increasing indebtedness of states and the private sector are no accident. They are the result of an elaborate plan in which gold as the only real money was sidelined and replaced by empty paper money created "out of thin air" by commercial banks at their beck and call in the process of extending credit.
