Individual binding by Marceli Żenczykowski (gilt signature above lower spine edge: "M. Żenczykowski Lwów"). On the spine gilt titlepage and such ornaments. At the end 3 maps: Western Carpathians, Tatra Mountains, Eastern Carpathians - all "in oro- and hydrographic terms". One of the most important works of A. Rehman (1840-1917) - botanist, geographer and traveler. "He has great merit in the scientific knowledge of the Carpathians, especially the Tatra Mountains, in which he conducted research from about 1860 [...]. The volume [...] 'Carpathians' [...] contains an extensive physiographical description of the Tatras, also published separately under the title. 'Tatry pod względem fizyczno-geograficznym' (Lv. 1895). For these and other works on the Tatras and the Carpathians, Rehman was appointed an honorary member of the Tatra Society in 1897" (WET 1012-1013).
