The coat of arms of Przemkow Municipality is a white castle with five defensive towers and an entrance gate on a blue field. In front of the entrance to the gate is a modified coat of arms of the von Proskau family - a red stag in a golden shield. The coat of arms of the city of Przemkow is said to date back to the time when Przemkow was owned by the von Proskau counts (1670 - 1737).
Przemkow is a small city in Lower Silesia (Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Polkowice County) with medieval origins. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it developed as a market settlement on the border of Silesia and Lusatia. It probably obtained city rights in the 14th century. In the centuries that followed, the city was ruled by the Silesian princes, and then came under the rule of the Czech Crown and the Habsburgs. From the 18th century, after the Silesian wars, Przemkow found itself within the borders of Prussia and later Germany. The city's development was mainly related to crafts, trade and the surrounding forests and ponds. In the 19th century, small industrial plants appeared, but Przemkow retained a rather local character.
After World War II, in 1945, the city was again within the borders of Poland. There was a population exchange and gradual reconstruction. In the post-war period, industry developed, including metal and textile.
