Biography
A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, where he currently serves as a professor in the Department of Printmaking. He works in painting, printmaking, and automatic visual poetry. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including first prize at the 13th Polish Woodcut and Linocut Quadriennale and an award at the Józef Gielniak International Competition. His works are held in major public and private collections in Poland and abroad, including those of the Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz and the Center for Contemporary Art in Toruń. His “BOX SYMPTOM” series combines geometric and constructive forms with the idea of writing as a trace, creating minimalist, metaphysical compositions based on a limited color palette. Barczyk’s work straddles the boundary between thought and imagination, inviting the viewer to explore abstract spaces.
