In 1922, the artist visited Hel. The Baltic-inspired paintings, along with other works, were included in two individual exhibitions by Stroński in 1923: at the Museum of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw and at TPSP in Lviv; a show of these works also took place in Przemyśl in December of the same year. A similar composition to the presented painting, titled "Barge at the Sea," without the figure of a fisherman, oil, canvas, 56 x 69 cm, is in the collection of MNZP.

Painter and printmaker associated with the artistic community of Przemyśl. From 1908 to 1913 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, among others under J. Malczewski and L. Wyczółkowski. He continued his studies in Vienna under Kazimierz Pochwalski. In 1924 and 1927 he traveled to Italy and the Balkans. In 1920, he presented 170 paintings at an exhibition in the town hall hall of the Przemyśl magistrate, besides which he exhibited in Warsaw and Lviv. The artist painted landscapes, portraits, still lifes, took up religious subjects, and is the author of prints with views of Przemyśl and Krasiczyn.
