Biography
Jan Waclaw Zawadowski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of J. Pankiewicz. In the 1930s he moved to France and lived in Orcel, Provence. His work was greatly influenced by the art of P. Cezanne. At first he painted pictures in muted, cool colors. He was one of the initiators of the Cercle des Artistes Polonais group.
