Tadeusz Rutkowski (1906 - 1981). Two gray horses unharnessed from a horse-drawn wagon at a pop-up are depicted in an impressionistic and lightly painted watercolor by Tadeusz Rutkowski, a painter associated with Lodz and Zgierz. In 1930 he began his studies at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. Horse motifs were common in his work, and his well mastered watercolor technique attests to the artist's professional training. The painting is signed "T. Rutkowski" right/bottom.
