Painting depicting a little girl in a folk costume of Lowicz.
"Lowicz Woman."
Author unidentified.
1944.
Pencil, watercolor on paper.
Signed in pencil in lower right corner: "P" in a rhombus, and below that the date 44 and the inscription ŁOWICZ.
The P in a rhombus is similar in form to the sign marking Poles forced to do forced labor in the Third German Reich. Considering the date 1944, it is likely that the watercolor was painted by a painter who was just on forced labor.
