Belgian painter. He studied at the Antwerp Academy under Charles Verlat. With him he worked on the Waterloo and Moscow panoramas. He painted genre scenes, landscapes, animalism and portraits. He traveled to Russia, North America and the Congo. He painted in a cool style, with precision and a clear color scheme,
