Peasant's head in a window
The small tondo focusses on a humorous detailed motif in a play with the shapes of the square of the window and the round head in it. A peasant with blond hair looks out of the small window and sticks out his tongue. One wonders whether he will not lose his strange hat when he pulls his head back in. The picture is in the tradition of Haarlem genre painting. Oil on panel, diameter 12.5 cm
