A richly dressed boy smilingly holds a falcon in his hand towards the viewer. He leans forward and looks directly and cheerfully, somewhat mockingly, at the viewer. His blue robe has sleeves with slits, as was fashionable in the early 16th century. The background is completed by a tapestry. The composition and style are typical of the so-called Utrecht Caravaggists, who created paintings influenced by Caravaggio in Utrecht after 1620. Oil on canvas 41.3 x 32.5 cm
