An interesting composition of the Hebrew type, which is described by Witold Garbaczewski as follows:
"A very similar composition is found on a brakteate probably minted in the female abbey of Eschwege (northern Hesse) in 1160-70.
where the organizing element of the space is a large lily, very similar to the turreted biconcave on the depicted Piast coin (...) What this original composition may mean (allusions to the Blessed Virgin Mary?), for now we do not know. The similarity of this coin to one of the earlier unspecified Piast brakteates was pointed out by B.Paszkiewicz."
Kraków (or Sandomierz) issue.
A very rare piece, with few auction listings.
BEAUTIFUL NUMIZMAT, with luster.
Definitely recommended.
Obverse: two lilies framed in an arcade surmounted by a tower, at the bottom a Hebrew inscription BRACHA (blessing);
