The work is characterized by Niesiolowski's typical reliefism - the use of a strong, dark contour, which circulates synthetic, simplified shapes, giving them decorativeness and fluidity.
The harmonious juxtaposition of warm browns and ochres of the body and sand with the blue of the background creates a serene, summer mood, typical of the artist's classicizing works from his later period.
Tymon Niesiołowski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Jozef Mehoffer and Stanislaw Wyspianski. His work is characterized by the pursuit of order, harmony and decorativeness, and he is considered a master of form and color, whose works are in the most important museum collections in Poland, including the National Museum in Warsaw.
