Landscape painter. Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1888-1890, then at the Vienna Academy and in Munich (private school of landscape by Anton Ażbe). Until 1912 he was associated with Lviv, where he taught painting from 1903, and was also briefly a professor at the Free Academy of Art. He participated in exhibitions organized by the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (TPSP) in Krakow, Warsaw and Lviv. After 1918, he lived mainly in Italy, where he was director of the Jan Styka Museum (Capri).
Landscape is among the characteristic works created by the artist, who specialized in depicting nature. The depicted frame seems common, but upon close examination one discovers a subtly constructed scene with the sensitive use of color and light. The artist's works are a good example of the moody landscapes of the Young Poland period.
