Nikodem Szpunar (born 1987 in Rzeszów) - designer, painter. He graduated from the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and also studied at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. He brought his love of working with wood from his home - his father and grandfather ran a carpentry workshop. In 2013, together with Kamila Niedźwiecka and sister Kornelia Szpunar, he founded Studio Szpunar, operating in Warsaw (see: www.studioszpunar.com). He designs furniture and interior design objects. He has participated in many trade fairs, exhibitions and industry events in the country and many countries around the world. In parallel with his work as a designer, he is involved in painting, about which he says in an interview: "I've been exploring the traces of various tools for about two years [2020 interview], although earlier this year I focused on one particular one in combination with acrylic paints. [...] This exploration of tools and their construction is one side, the other is the search for the forms themselves. Sometimes they have something of design projects in them and sometimes they are quite abstract. It's hard to assign a function to painting. It's probably easiest if I say that I just can't help making more works and I'm happy that more and more people want to hang them on their walls."
