Joanna Galecka, 1963, Clouds on the floodplains, 2016

oil, canvas, 50.00 x 100.00 cm
The painting "Clouds on the floodplains" is one of the Biebrza-themed paintings. It was presented at my solo exhibition " Wild Paths" at the BWA in Sandomierz in January 2017.
The painting was created out of fascination with the wild landscape of the Biebrza River, which looks most painterly and unusual in early spring, when the river spills and the sky reflects on its surface. Added to this are spring plants and migrating birds.
The painting shows a motif with reflected clouds, vegetation (ducklings) in the strong, still slightly cool, but cheerful light of the pre-winter. It may be of interest to viewers because of the theme of nature, spring, space, serene color and light or individual feelings.
Joanna Galecka comes from Podlasie, near the picturesque Biebrza Valley. She graduated from the High School of Fine Arts in Suprasl and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow - Graphics and Painting,(studies under Prof. Z. Maciejewski, Prof. J. Szancenbach, Prof. J. Gaia).
He creates paintings, woodcuts and drawings in cycles : "Days of Night", "By the Red Water" (Greek impressions), "Biebrza Landscapes", "Bazaar in Ashgabat"( Asian impressions), "Land of Felicia", "In modo barocco" and others.
