First I heard about them.

Then I saw old photos.

Finally I dreamed of them.

A string of wooden piers and bathing cabins on the Vistula River in Grudziadz in the 1930s.

A safe swimming area in the then clear Vistula water.

From the Vistula River near Grudziądz to the Dniester River in Zaleszczyki, where we used to vacation in the Mediterranean climate, our nation swam in clean rivers and sunbathed on coarse sandy riverbanks.
