Biography
She studied painting at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, from which she graduated in 1955. She studied easel painting under A. Nacht-Samborski, mural painting under J. Żuławski, and textile art under J. Wnękow. After graduation, she emigrated to France. Her works were included in the 1960 exhibition “Jesteśmy” (“We Are”), which showcased works by Polish artists living abroad. Madeyska used a muted color palette—subtle shades of beige, pink, blue, and brown. Her paintings from the 1990s are filled with spherical forms intersected by lines. Her collages, which she created on white notebook pages, have a different appearance. They are dominated by rich browns and blacks.
