Maciej Walczak (b. 1992, Zgierz) is a versatile visual artist, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, and previously a student at the Lodz University of Technology, majoring in interior design. In his work, he combines experiences of physicality with reflections on psychology and spirituality, inspired by, among others, the thought of Jung. His works are a form of emotional recording - a search for balance between light and shadow, order and chaos. He creates both expressive painting compositions, in which organic forms resemble sculptural structures of nature, and graphic representations based on strong line and symbolism. For him, art is a process of self-therapy and a way to integrate emotions, but also a form of rebellion and a tool to support the process of individuation. It is based mainly on the archetypes of the warrior and the sage. Walczak has participated in and curated numerous solo and group exhibitions. The foundation of his work is freehand murals, which can be seen in several European cities (Lodz, Krakow, Lyon, Darmstadt). He abandoned his doctoral studies in favor of his own development and activities at Follow The WAV3, a foundation he co-founded to promote artists by combining art and business. He also works with the EduArt Foundation, founded by Roma Gąsiorowska, which supports the development of artistic sensitivity in children. Privately, he is passionate about boxing and adrenaline.
