Ewa Pieronkiewicz ( b.1995, Pszczyna)
Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, majoring in Scenography (diploma with distinction under the direction of Prof. Małgorzata Komorowska, Ph.D., 2020). Since 2020, she has been working at the Juliusz Słowacki Theater in Cracow in the painting and modeling studio, where she sculpts, paints, creates set design elements, props and costume parts for various plays.
She has participated in many group exhibitions including: "Field of Play 2" at the Krakow Opera House in 2017, "Conversation with the Masters" at the Promotional Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2019, "The Fall of Icarus" an exhibition of students' works as part of the Scenography and Costume Festival "Stage under Construction" at the Meeting of Cultures Center in Lublin in 2018, an exhibition of works by scenography students during the Praque Quadrienalle at the Czech Center Gallery in Prague in 2019.
She translates her sense of color, form and composition into scenographic design, but also through scenography she can look at painting in a different way. An important role in her paintings is played by space and light, which, just as on the stage, brings out nuances, shimmers, or sinks into shadow. She seeks mystery, darkness, the hustle and bustle of the moment, and the atmosphere of space in her paintings. One of the painting subjects he takes up are atmospheric streets like ready-made stage sets bathed in the lights of street lamps, neon lights and puddles of rain, with their inherent density of matter and its mobility.
