He studied painting with L. Corinth in Berlin and at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. He exhibited his works in Paris and in New York, where he stayed for five years. In 1918 he exhibited his works at an exhibition in Lodz, here he presented 24 landscapes and portraits. In 1929, his group exhibition was held in Lodz. Among the fifty-six works were views of Paris, still lifes and sketches. Several works referred to the paintings of M. Utrill. As late as 1930, he took part in a Krakow exhibition of works by the Lodz "Start" group. In the 1930s he settled in New York. His works are in the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the National Gallery in Washington.
