Very rare PROBE of medal, coming from the archives of the King Northon Mint, which minted most of the decorations and coins of the Second Polish Republic.
In 1926, the Main Association of Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland decided to establish an award for special merits in the field of firefighting.
This medal came in three grades: gold, silver and bronze. It was suspended on a white ribbon 35 mm wide, with a vertical red stripe 15 mm wide.
It was made of tombac that was gilded, silvered or bronzed depending on the grade.
On the reverse of the medal there was an inscription FOR / MERIT / FOR / FIRE FIGHTING and an image of a Piast eagle with a crown, resting on crossed fire axes.
The presented speciimen is probe struck with the obverse repeated on both sides.
