Jacek Łydżba studied art education in 1985-1989 at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Częstochowa, then from 1989 continued his studies at the Faculty of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He received his diploma with honors in 1994 in the poster studio of Prof. Maciej Urbaniec. In 1995 he took up a job as an assistant at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Częstochowa. In 2002 he obtained a doctorate and the position of assistant professor at this university. In 2004 he was elected deputy director of the Institute of Fine Arts at the Jan Długosz Academy in Częstochowa (the former WSP). Since 1991, he has repeatedly presented his works in individual and group exhibitions, at home and abroad. He cooperates on a regular basis with the Art Gallery in Warsaw. He mainly works in painting and drawing, as well as in the specific technique of collage, which involves applying layers of cardboard with sharp, contrasting colors. His works, while presenting a blunt and humorous view of the world, are not devoid of touches of reflection on the ills of modernity, the past and future of the environment in which the artist lives and works.
