The "Imago Artis" Handicraft Work Cooperative operated from 1947 to 1995 in Cracow. It became famous for the production of gallantry and jewelry made in the filigree technique, which was inspired by folk Silesian-cieszyn ornaments, made using the same technique, as well as jewelry from Kraków-Bronowice, for which red coral was characteristic. The establishment of the "Imago Artis" cooperative (whose name, derived from Latin, can be translated as "Mirror of Art") was connected with the merger of plants with various specializations (including foundry and locksmith), as a result of which the workshop was not limited to the creation of jewelry, but also various metal objects, including goblets, spoons and the candlestick in question.
