Edward Czerwiński (born September 14, 1892 in Warsaw, died February 25, 1966) - Polish painter, graphic artist, educator, organizer of artistic life. In 1914 he went to study painting in Paris. There, on August 1, 1914, he married Maria, née Puciata (b. 1890), a physician. In Paris, he became associated with the Polish Literary and Artistic Society and participated in the organization's exhibitions in 1915-1917. He also took part in French salons: Autumn in 1919 and Independent in 1920, as well as other exhibitions. In 1920 he returned to Poland. He took a job teaching drawing at the State Construction School in Warsaw (1921-1928). In 1924, he joined the local School of Fine Arts (later the Academy of Fine Arts), where he worked intermittently until his retirement in 1962.At the School of Fine Arts, he was initially an instructor of printmaking (1924-1926), then from 1928, an assistant in the printmaking studio of Władysław Skoczylas (which he headed independently during the professor's tenure as director of the Art Department of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in 1930-1931). After Skoczylas's death in 1934, he was promoted to senior assistant in the printmaking studio of Leon Wyczółkowski (until 1936) and Stanisław Ostoi-Chrostowski (until 1938). During the German occupation, he was a teacher of printmaking and drawing at the Stanislaw Noakowski Female School of Architecture (1940-1944) and at the Municipal Building School and the School of Metalwork at the Warsaw University of Technology (1942-1944). In September 1939 and in the Warsaw Uprising, he lost his studio and creative output twice.
