Etching, cardboard, 26 x 62.5 cm; signed p.d.: "Mielatz 90". Crumpled right margin with glued margin tear entering the drawing (not very visible),bend and gluing of part of the left margin, hardly visible flooding of the right corner.
The artist was born in Brandenburg, bordering Greater Poland as part of one state. His surname also has a Slavic sound. As a child, he moved with his parents to the USA where he graduated from art school and was the creator of many prints including so-called panoramic prints as represented by this print. Despite the appearance of his numerous works at auctions in the US, this print has not appeared at auction in two decades. His prints have the Metropolitan Museum in N.Y. And the National Museum of American History.
