Bogdan Antoni Meleniewski was a student of Jacek Malczewski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1915-1921). He continued his studies in Paris, Munich and Holland until finally settling in Rome, where he spent seven years. From 1933 he was a member of the Cracow Branch of the ZZPAP, and was invited as an expert for the conservation of Queen Jadwiga's crucifix in Wawel Cathedral. He participated in exhibitions in Rome (1928, 1930), among others. In 1929 he exhibited thirteen pastel views of Rome and Cracow at the TPSP in Cracow, in 1930 he had a solo exhibition in Warsaw at the Salon of Czeslaw Garlinski (views of Rome, pastels).
