Wojciech Weiss - Polish painter graphic artist, sculptor. From 1907 he was a professor, later rector of the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. He painted, among other things, landscapes of the Strzyżów, Płaszów and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska area (towns where he lived), portraits, nudes. His work was influenced by the works of Munch, Malczewski, he was also influenced, especially in his youth, by the philosophical views of Stanislaw Przybyszewski. He was an artist who was appreciated during his lifetime, recognized, exhibited in Polish lands and abroad. He received the state art prize of the Minister of Religious Denominations and Public Enlightenment for 1937[1].His passion was photography. The family collection contains hundreds of photographs of him from the early 20th century.
