About the Artist:
After studying literature and philosophy in Madrid, she began modeling in clay with painter and sculptor Julio Antonio Ortiz in 1972. Since then, she has never stopped working with clay, opening her first studio in Madrid in 1977, which became a space for creation and learning. There she developed her knowledge of enamel chemistry and won numerous awards. She searched for new materials and began working in resin and bronze, which enabled her to create works in public spaces. Since returning to France, she has used bronze as a final material, even if the starting point is still clay.
Liliane Caumont:
"I am deeply humanistic and what has driven me for almost fifty years is to express feelings through my work. Women have been at the center of my inspiration. Every stage of life means a new learning process, and this one means being able to translate the many aspects of the female soul from tenderness, loneliness, passion, strength and her position in today's world. I have also worked for companies in Spain to create murals and have made many trophies for women's and medical associations. Right now my biggest dream is to create monumental works for gardens and public spaces by combining iron, bronze and glass."
