Biography
A sculptor from Lviv. She was one of the first women to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the studio of Prof. Konstanty Laszczka. After three years of study, she returned to Lviv, where she became one of the leading sculptors. She created numerous church decorations (St. Elizabeth’s Church in Lviv, the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Polanka near Krosno, and the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ternopil) as well as monuments (including a bust of Józef Piłsudski, the “Monument to the Fallen” in Brzeżany, and a monument to Maria Konopnicka in Lviv). The war destroyed almost her entire artistic body of work. After 1945, she lived in Kraków with her husband, the sculptor Fryderyk Toth, where she died in 1986.
