Photographer, painter and sculptor, theoretician of photography. After studying in Paris, he first settled in Lublin in 1872, where he worked at Wanda Chicinska's photographic establishment. In 1874 he opened his own atelier in Warsaw. He then moved to Tiflis. In 1888 he brought to Warsaw an exhibition of his photographic works, many of which were made by a technique he invented and called "photo-sculptures."
