Copy of a 10th century silver, gilded, ungilded chalice (originally a Mass chalice) plucked in 1909 near Wloclawek. Since 1910 in the collection of the National Museum in Cracow. It features eight scenes depicting the story of Gideon, the conqueror of the Midianites, from the Old Testament Book of Judges. The figural representations are accompanied by floral and geometric ornaments. It is the only object of pre-Roman craftsmanship from the territory of Poland.
