Pair of important porcelain and bronze vases from the early 1900s, 41 cm, early 1900s
A refined and elegant pair of two-handled vases with amphora-shaped bodies. The central porcelain structure is embellished with an intense blue/turquoise glaze on the lower section and the circular base. The upper band features rich hand-painted decoration within reserved areas, depicting idealized Arcadian landscapes and classical figures, framed by delicate geometric designs and plant motifs in pure gold.
The vases are enhanced by a sumptuous, finely chiseled gilded bronze mount. The volute-shaped side handles feature leaf-shaped attachments that elegantly connect to the neck of the amphora, ending with a gilded, pod-shaped corolla at the top. The vases rest on square, gilded bronze plinth bases.
