Good condition: minor creases and rubbing at edges, cloth on spine with minor damage and peeling in places, paper yellowed. Plate 45 in a slightly smaller format, probably added after the title page was printed, listing only 44 sheets with illustrations.

Tyrovich's better-known introduction to costume design (a script for art colleges) is the second edition of his 1957 textbook (with revised content and illustrations). The book was published during the Stalinist era, somewhat marked by a view of fashion history through the prism of socialist doctrine.
