A hunter in early 19th century costume against a background of wooden huts, covered with straw,typical of Poland rather than France. The author, H.Vernet, also did paintings commissioned by Poles, including battle scenes with Rev. J.Poniatowski, Gen. W.Krasinski or the Conquest of Somosierra. He was also a teacher of painter J.Suchodolski and godfather of Wojciech Kossak. This version of the print has not been on auction since 2000, museums do not report its existence. It is known only from the Parisian version by the graphic artist Ch.F. Levachez.
